3 Part Recipe For Landing Page Success!

A Landing Page (a.k.a. capture page or splash page) is an informal, one-page website that is generally placed in front of your business website and is designed to “capture” your prospect’s information (their name, email, phone number, etc).

Once you capture your prospect’s information, you can continue to sustain a relationship with them by sending them valuable information such as: emails, free reports, ezine subscriptions, e-courses, etc.

One of the most important aspects of your business is your Landing Page. In fact, I would argue that your Landing Page is the single most important part of your business.

Why? It’s simple. When a prospect lands on your page, they immediately find that there is a real person associated with your business. Instead of pouring through a boring business website, your prospect encounters an individual with a personality, leadership skills and unique qualities.

Immediately, you create a bond of trust between yourself and your prospect. As they read your bio, watch your videos and look at your pictures, they personally experience you and your business style.

Most small business owners simply throw together an ill-designed page that converts poorly. If you want a high-converting Landing Page, then you must follow a step-by-step recipe for success.
The other afternoon, my daughter and I were baking a batch of chocolate chip cookies. We lined up all the ingredients and began our process of measuring, mixing and baking. Suddenly my daughter said to me, “Mom, let’s just make our own recipe and find out what happens!”

Well, I am always up for a challenge. So, we decided to make a special batch of “Peanut Butter With a Bit Of Chocolate Chip Cookies.”

After putting together the ingredients and baking our concoction, we weren’t so thrilled with the results. We both admitted that we better follow the recipe next time!

Business owners make this exact same mistake every single day. They decide to build a Landing Page in order to “capture” their prospect’s information.

However, most Landing Pages end up being a haphazard conglomeration of pictures, hype and nonsense that doesn’t appeal to the prospect. If you want a successful Landing Page then you need to follow a recipe.

I have found that there is a step-by-step process to putting together a Landing Page that will produce a large number of prospects. Here it your 3-part Recipe:

1) You need a compelling HEADLINE. Like it or not, you only have three quick seconds to capture your prospect’s attention. Therefore, you need to put quite a bit of time and energy into creating a fantastic headline that compels the prospect to stay on your page.

2) Throughout the BODY of your website, your job is to create a relationship with your prospect. This can be accomplished through bullet points, great ad-copy, audios, and videos. The only purpose of the BODY of your website is to create a connection with your prospect.

3) Finally, you need a CALL TO ACTION. Once your prospect has looked over your site, you need to tell them what you want them to do. In addition, you will have much higher conversion rate if you offer something of value to your prospect like a downloadable report or e-book.

Remember, there is a recipe that you can follow to realize success and high conversions with your Landing Page. You just need to put the ingredients together correctly!

Trust me…. You know !

This morning I had an “Ah-ha!” moment that I want to share with you.
In my coaching practice I work with my clients to help them hear their own voices, to allow them to trust themselves and step in the power of their professional and personal lives.  I tell my clients that what they know, what they feel, what they notice matters.  I coach them to listen to them selves and trust their inner guidance to make the best choices for their lives and situation.

This morning I realized that in at least one area of my life, I was not walking my talk! That area is my exercise practice. I was introduced to yoga in 2000 when I moved from France to the USA. As a new Californian I felt compelled to put on my loose pants and flip flops, and head to the nearest yoga class carrying my coffee cup and yoga mat. Yoga was very different from anything I knew before. It was a slow pace workout where I finally found an opportunity to connect with both my body and spirit. I left every class connected to myself and to the bigger picture of my life. I loved it. I came home energized and feeling like I had engaged some part of my body that I was not even aware existed before!  The next day I would fell pain in my back, but went back to class anyway. I loved the yoga community, and wanted to be part of it. It seemed like everyday I would meet another person who told me how yoga impacted their lives. I have been practicing yoga for years almost 10 years now.

Today my personal trainer opened my eyes. She asked me, “If you feel pain in your back everyday after your yoga practice, don’t you think that maybe yoga is not right for you?”
What! Not right for me? How can yoga not be right for me? Isn’t yoga right for everyone?

Sadly, my trainer was right. I did have pain after every class, and it had gotten worse over the last 9 years. I had rationalized that the pain was due to three pregnancies – I had even did prenatal yoga. How come I was not listening to what my body was telling me in a very loud voice everyday? I was following the crowd, yearning to be part of something else, and not acknowledging my own inner voice.

My advice to myself and to you: Be aware and remember what you feel! What you notice matters. Pay attention, trust yourself, and find your own way!

Tomorrow, I am off to try Pilates and see if it’s a better fit for me and my body.

The power of Validation !

This is a big part of my upcoming book. Celebrating others, Celebrating the self.
I have noticed that the more precise you are in your acknowledgment, the most powerful it is.

Since I moved to the US in 2000 and became a mom I have been really impressed by the amount of ” Good Job” ” You are great” I have heard.
I want to invite all of you to go beyond this and one step further, the extra result will be tremendous.
Instead of saying ” Good Job”, you can say for example” The way you’ve handled this project was really professional, especially when we’ve got in trouble regarding (….), you came in and use your specific talent ( writing, convincing, being consistent… You name it !!). Thank you, your contribution really made a difference and was deeply appreciated.

Do you see the difference ????

The power of Facebook over my life !

I love Facebook !
It is so fun, every night before going to sleep, to log into my page and see what my friends, siblings, cousins ( many of them in France 10 000 miles away from me) are up to. Some people I know very well, some I just recently met, some I have worked with, some with I would like to work…

In one page I get so many snap shot of their lives and I also get to watch some cool videos, join some powerful groups and learn what’s going on in this wonderful world.

Everyday I get new friends joining the fun and asking me to become their : “Friends”.
I see their relationship status going from single, to in a relationship and married or the tricky ” it’s complicated”.
I see my teenage cousins, living their teenage lives with the new technologies and posting some some pics or comments that I am not sure I am supposed to see :)

Facebook is also a place to tell my network what I am up too. Share my journey as a Coach and a Writer.
Ask their feedback, find resources, Celebrate my successes.

Facebook is becoming part of my everyday life to a degree that is sometime quite surprising.

Yesterday night my 2 years old daughter was having a bad night and was coughing a lot. As every mom I was sleeping while also being pretty aware of her next to me.
You know how sometimes you are conscious of your dreams. Well that time in my dream I said : ” Christine is wondering if she should bring the air humidifier in her daughter’s room”. I woke up in shock and thought to myself : ” this is a Facebook overdose” !!!

Women Owning the Workplace: tips to Guide Female Entrepreneurs

Women Owning the Workplace: Tips to Guide Female Entrepreneurs

Women Owning the Workplace: Tips to Guide Female Entrepreneurs

Author: Melissa Mashtonio

Women are taking the business world by storm, and it doesn’t look like they’re backing down. According the Womenentrepreneur.com, women-owned firms are the fastest growing in the country. Women are looking beyond the traditional roles and moving ahead to a new role: entrepreneur. This does not necessarily mean women are swapping roles with their spouses (although some are), but they simply may be adding owning a business to their list of daily duties.

If you’re one of the many women considering going entrepreneur, it’s important to do your research first. Starting up a business is no easy task and many people get into trouble by diving in without any thought. Consider some of these tips to help you prepare yourself for the task ahead.

First, figure out what type of business you want to start. One of the biggest mistakes you can make is to start a business dealing with something of no interest to you. Before you pick, think about your talents and passions. These are two key factors in choosing what type of business to run.

Once you’ve decided on your type of business, you can start focusing on that line of work.

Next, find a place to host your business. Many women start their businesses out of their homes–but it’s important to be careful.

If you want to start your business at home, be sure to find a place in your house that is “strictly business.” This area should be removed from the rest of your home and preferably have a door to close out the noise of a busy home. Also, you should try to get a phone line specific to your business instead of using your home phone number or cell phone. This will create a more professional feeling for customers.

Two of the biggest hurdles women face when starting a business are poor financing and lack of experience. Remedy the first by waiting until you are financially stable before you quit your current job to start a business. Take into consideration all the costs associated with starting a business: rent, supplies, employee salaries, etc.

When it comes to experience, just starting your business increases your knowledge However, avoid some of the problems encountered by inexperienced business owners by using mentors and other contacts to gain advice. Try finding women in your area who started their own businesses and ask for tips.

Before opening your doors, think about the time needed to start and run a business. If you are a mother who wants to be able to take care of her kids, realize this may not always be possible with the time demands of a business. Going back to school also may hinder your ability to start and run a business effectively. Look at the factors in your life that take up most of your time and weigh out your options.

Besides thinking of time restraints, also realize the risk of starting your own business. Many women look at starting a business as an opportunity to be their own boss and keep more of the profit, but there are snags in this dream.

Many businesses take 3 or 4 years to start up, and during this time may barely break even. Be sure to have a back-up plan in case your business doesn’t catch on as quickly as you imagined. Also, being your own boss may seem glamorous, but this responsibility leaves only you to worry about financial situations and deal with employee issues.

Once you’ve considered the above factors, you’re ready to start your business. The first months or year may be a challenge, but the rewards of completely owning a company are priceless. Just be sure to keep it all in perspective; most women entrepreneurs don’t own Fortune 500 companies. Don’t be afraid to allow your business to stay small rather than stretching your limits to grow. Finally, get support by joining networks such as entrepreneur.com or we-inc.org (Women Entrepreneur, Inc.) to get helpful tips and network with other female entrepreneurs.

What’s happening in my life !

Welcome to the New Year;
it seems like everyone is diligently making resolutions and setting new goals. Just Google “make it happen” and you’ll find 45,200,000 results! Talk about pressure! To make matters worse, I live in LA surrounded by the glamorous “Hollywood Life” of wealthy, achieved and famous persons. A little voice in my head begins to make the inevitable comparisons: “And you can’t even figure out how to become a famous Life and Business Coach! You are nothing!”

I started the New Year ready to “make it happen”. If you are ambitious like me you are probably always looking for opportunities to reach the next level in your career and personal life. Life however does not always cooperate with our plans. In January my business was slow. Due to the general economic downturn, I lost two of my solid clients who could no longer afford my services anymore. Did I take these developments in stride and move forward? No! My ego, confidence and energy went right down the drain. I felt that I was loosing the very foundations of my Entrepreneurial Edifice! Pfffff!

I needed to take my own advice and give myself some space to look realistically at my real foundations. I needed to revisit my Vision my coaching practice, and my life. Giving my self the permission and time to observe and think felt so good, and had wonderful results.

For an entire week I took excellent care of my current clients but I didn’t pressure myself to make changes. I stopped all proactive marketing for the week. I went to yoga, and read a book at my favorite cafe on the pier at Hermosa Beach. I let my mind wonder where it wanted to go. This gift of time and space allowed me to reframe a disheartening situation into an ideal circumstance.

For the past two years I’ve wanted to write a book on the Power of Celebration, but hadn’t done a single concrete thing about reaching this dream. I now realized I could use the slow beginning of the year to finally take the plunge, build up momentum, and take action about something truly meaningful to me. As a first step I enrolled in an 8 week professional class, How to Write a Book Proposal. I love the class and now feel I can officially call myself a writer!

Taking action towards fulfilling my vision was scary. Many time I went to bed really wondering if I could do really pull off writing the book. However, another part of me feels that the message that I am sharing in this book is bigger than me. It’s part of my path to share it. I find the best way for me to work on this meaningful project is to go one step at a time. Once I see the project broken down into manageable, enjoyable bites, I am no longer overwhelmed.

I would love to hear from you about the meaningful projects you are dreaming about for your career and life.

Love and Respect,

Christine

Is Business Coaching worth the investment ?

Is Business Coaching worth the investment ?
Don’t take my word for it, just read this article from the Wall Street Journal
